28/05/2012 - Scotland's Modern Apprenticeship Awards Open to Applications for 2012
Now in their eleventh year, the Modern Apprenticeship Awards are a celebration of the high standards being reached by many employees, employers and learning providers involved in Modern Apprenticeships in Scotland.
The Awards aim to showcase those who have, through their involvement in Modern Apprenticeships, demonstrated initiative, enterprise and outstanding commitment to the improvement of skills development for the Scottish economy.
There are eight categories to apply for as follows:
- Construction and Production Apprentice of the Year - Open to those individuals aged 24 and under (at the start of their apprenticeship) who have completed or are due to complete their apprenticeship by 30 September 2012 or who were certificated no earlier than 1 October 2011.
- Service Apprentice of the Year - Open to those individuals aged 24 and under (at the start of their apprenticeship) who have completed or are due to complete their apprenticeship by 30 September 2012 or who were certificated no earlier than 1 October 2011.
- Adult Apprentice of the Year - Open to those individuals aged 25 + (at the start of their apprenticeship) who have completed or are due to complete their apprenticeship by 30 September 2012 or who were certificated no earlier than 1 October 2011.
- Small Employers - For businesses and organisations that have less than 50 employees.
- Medium Employers - For businesses and organisations that have between 50 and 249 employees.
- Large Employers - For businesses and organisations that have 250 and over employees.
- Partnership - Open to partnerships that can demonstrate their commitment to Modern Apprenticeships by showcasing their combined achievements in developing sustainable activity to support the Modern Apprenticeship programme.
- Best Business Newcomer - Open to those companies (of any size and across any sector) that have, within the last two years (since April 2010), shown a new commitment to Modern Apprenticeship training.
Entrants must have completed all components of their Modern Apprenticeship to be eligible to enter these awards. The Awards are free to enter; however, they are not open to past applicants.
The closing date for receipt of all completed applications is 23 August 2012. Winners will be announced at the Modern Apprenticeship Awards in November.
