03/05/2012 - Launch of the Enterprise M3 Growing Enterprise Fund for Hampshire & Surrey
Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has been awarded £21.7 million as part of the Government's Growing Places Fund. The Growing Places Fund in the Enterprise M3 LEP area is known as the Growing Enterprise Fund.
This scheme is intended to help unlock economic growth by addressing immediate infrastructure constraints, helping to create housing and jobs for local people. It operates as a 'recycling fund' where investment is repaid over time; allowing for further investments in the future.
'Forward funding' will be awarded for essential infrastructure initiatives that will unlock developments that are stalled. A variety of schemes could qualify, including transport, utilities, broadband, flood defences, land remediation and education (eg the provision of new school places).
Businesses and public sector organisations operating in the Enterprise M3 area, which covers mid and north Hampshire and South West Surrey, may apply.
The deadline for receipt of applications under the current round is 8 June 2012.
