26/04/2012 - Business Show for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Plans for a show to "supercharge" fledgling businesses and those aiming to follow in the steps of Richard Branson are now available.

Details were announced at the Kent 2020 Vision LIVE expo where thousands of people congregated to the Kent Event Centre, Detling.

Start-up LIVE on 24 October 2012 aims to assist those people with a good business idea. It aims to attract young people, undergraduates, postgraduates and anyone else with entrepreneurial aspirations.

In excess of 1,000 would-be entrepreneurs and 100 exhibitors, from banks to business advisors, are anticipated to attend.

It is being run by business support agency BSK-CIC, Kent County Council, Kent Event Centre and the KM Group.

Jane Ollis, BSK chief executive, commented:

"Starting up a business is a really scary thing. We ask people to often take a huge cut in pay, put their house at risk and put their family through a nightmare. But running your own business could be a really satisfying experience. We want to supercharge start-ups. Many of us have ideas but very few do something with them. If you're equipped with the skills, the confidence, ambition and drive, it's amazing what you can do. It's about whether you have the guts to give it a go. We want to help you do that."

The event will be run by Revolution Events, Pembury, which also ran Kent 2020 Vision LIVE.
