09/07/2012 - Grant Assistance for Tewkesbury Businesses
Businesses in Tewkesbury have the opportunity to acquire funding as part of the Council's Business Grant Scheme.
Companies are offered the opportunity of acquiring a part of a £50,000 pot of cash as part of its business grant scheme.
A recent survey identified grant funding as a key area of support which is of paramount importance to assist businesses at the current time.
Around 42 grants have been given out already.
Three support grants are available. One for businesses run from home, one for start ups and another to help existing companies develop and grow.
Managing director Andrew Terry commented:
"We put the money towards extra resources. I was able to employ another pair of hands to take on more telemarketing. By doing that we have managed to increase our sales. It is not a large sum of money so it's not going to change the world but it will certainly allow the business to increase the work we do."
Tewkesbury Borough Council's lead member for finance, Allen Keyte, stated:
"We've already had many successful grant stories so far this year, and considering the economic climate at the moment I encourage small and medium-sized businesses to find out if this scheme could provide some financial support for them too."
