The Bootlaw Competition is provided by Bootlaw, which is a free 'boot camp' for emerging technology, internet and digital professionals who want to learn more about the legal issues they face. The promoter of the competition is Pinsent Masons LLP.
Bootlaw is a business plan contest offering free legal advice to emerging technology, internet and digital professionals.
Entrants are asked to submit a two page business plan which will be judged on:
- the innovation and novelty of the business model;
- the size of the potential market;
- the skill set of the management team;
- the potential for protection of any intellectual property rights; and
- future financial performance and the use of any venture capital funding.
The deadline for receipt of entries for the 2012 funding round was 31 July 2012 (5pm). Details and deadline information for any future rounds will be reported when available
The scheme invites applications from emerging technology, internet and digital professionals in the UK who want to learn more about the legal issues they face.
Competition entrants must either be an existing client of the promoter (Pinsent Masons LLP) or be capable of satisfying all requirements of the promoter in order to become a client (including compliance with all UK money laundering regulations).
The support provided will help the winners with setting up new companies, negotiating contracts and gaining investment.
All prizes must be credited against fees incurred for legal advice provided by the promoter.
